Core Job Responsibilities:
Compensation starting at $29.00/hour commensurate with experience.
- Operating a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). May be required to load and/or unload truck. Good driving record and current medical card required.
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
- Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secured via; ropes, blocks, chains, binders or covers.
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Perform basic maintenance on truck – change oil, grease, assist with changing tires, check fluids and keep vehicle clean inside and outside, etc.
- Must have experience driving and unloading side dump trailer on the run.
- Hazmat endorsement preferred but not required.
